Ugima Farmers: Medium Roast

Ugima Foundation is a development organization based in Meru and run by Martin Nkaku (Agronomist & Agricultural Economist). The organization uses a community collaboration model to improve the livelihoods of smallholder coffee farmers. Their mission is to promote organic and regenerative coffee farming practices, and to contribute to socio-economic empowerment by providing employment & marketing opportunities to the community (mainly women & youth). 

Ugima Foundation currently works with over 500 smallholder farmers who have received training, coffee inputs and coffee seedlings from the organization. The coffee farms are spread across the Eastern Kenya region: Meru, Tharaka-Nithi and Embu.
